Line exploration

I call this "lefy and righty"... I'm going to play that off as if it was intentional
1. What was it like using your hand as subject matter for a drawing?
I have had similar assignments in the past, but I truly do enjoy drawing the human hand. It can be very interesting and dramatic subject matter.

2. What media did you select - pencil or charcoal? Why?
I chose to do this assignment in charcoal. It is one of my favorite mediums because of its intense and forgiving manner

3. How did it feel to create a drawing with your non-dominant hand?
It felt extremely awkward. I am not useful with my left hand whatsoever, I had a very difficult time.

4. Compare and contrast your final drawings. Do you think they are successful studies?
After I had started drawing with my dominant hand I realized I had picked a very boring perspective of my hand and wish I had put that into consideration earlier. I do think that they were successful studies, but this will defiantly not make it into my portfolio!

5. Would you consider using your non-dominant hand to create artwork in the future?
I actually may! I like to make were abstract and different styled art and I think this method may lead to a hand collaboration in the future!

I recorded a video of my process of drawing my hand for my blog. Which you can see Here
